Echelon, Elo Sistema’s partner, wins European Market Share Leadership Award by owning 81% (35 million) of smart meters installed throughout Europe.

The Echelon's president and CEO, Mr. Ron Sege, has sent a note to all its partners and customers, informing the great achievement and thanking the fantastic support that was provided, see below:

Echelon wins European Market Share Leadership Award; praised for “most diversified” product offering

I want to share some great news with all of you. Frost & Sullivan has just completed research which confirms that Echelon technology powers 81% of all smart meters installed in Europe to date. In recognition of this achievement, Frost & Sullivan has awarded Echelon the 2011 Market Share Leadership Award. This is a tremendous milestone and the result of your dedication and hard work, the fantastic support of our VAR partners and customers, and the simple fact that we have products that delight our customers.

I am writing to thank you — and to say the obvious — that we couldn’t have done it without you. In essence, the award is also yours, and I hope you are proud that it recognizes your work in spearheading the smart meter revolution in Europe.

The company holds the highest market share in the smart electricity meter market in Europe with 81 per cent share in terms of installed base in 2010 with about 35 million meters installed. The company holds a 65% share of the market in terms of unit shipments in 2010. . .
